About Mrs. Manzano
I grew up in Houston and moved to the most beautiful city in the state for college, Austin. I attended the University of Texas at Austin and received my degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Religion. I loved Austin so much, but ended up back in Houston when my future husband started teaching in Houston ISD.
I taught 3rd grade for a year in Cy-Fair ISD, the district I grew up in, and then we decided Houston was not for us. We both interviewed in Port Isabel a few weeks before our wedding, and were both offered jobs here.
Ernesto and I were married in Port Isabel on July 6, 2007. We quickly packed up and came back down before school started. It was a very busy summer.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, walking, and spending time with my husband and our adorable cat, Hattie.
I love teaching 3rd grade and enjoy each day with my students. I'm so glad to be at Derry!
